Activity of the R&D Center

The activity of MIRDC, operating on the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Pannonia, is focused on large scale R&D projects based on the results of the two biomedical research laboratories within the Center.

The research laboratories are the following:

  • Bioelectric Brain Imaging Laboratory,
  • Bioelectric Cardiac Imaging Laboratory.

The Center has a matrix-like structure which means that for every project, the necessary human and infrastructural resources are provided and shared by the departments of the Faculty in cooperation. Currently there are two projects in the implementation phase. The FP7-coordinated ENIAC project aims the development and the accuracy estimation of an epileptic focus localization algorithm based on electroencephalography (EEG), electrode-tissue impedance (ETI) and electrical impedance tomography (EIT). The other project (TAMOP 4.2.2.) is a on the design and clinical application of bioelectric imaging systems with special regard to the risk assessment of malignant arrhythmias.
