Project title: "Production development of solar panels with an innovative design that can be integrated into various building materials"

Aim
Nowadays, solar panel systems are becoming increasingly common, and the need arose not only in the traditional way but also in individual elements of buildings, e.g., in roof tiles, in paving stones, etc. as solar panels can also be integrated. This way, larger surfaces can be covered, resulting in higher performance. However, if solar panels appear not only on the roof but also, for example, on the facades of houses, as well the aesthetic appearance also appears as a new expectation. The project aims to develop software that can optimize the coverage of certain surfaces of 3-dimensional building models and the panel sizes determined by the CoreCommSI factory. Another goal is to estimate the expected production and consider the radiation and shadows.
During the implementation, the development of a software module was realized, which is capable of reading the models created in the better-known building design software (FreeCad, Autodesk Inventor), then covering the marked surfaces with the help of various heuristics and mathematical programming models, and then writing back the result. To estimate the expected production, we model the course of the sun and the movement of possible shadows.
